The travel and lifestyle brand collaborates with The Postcard Hotels to create a fun, tropical capsule collection for holidays

Nicobar, the lifestyle brand and Postcard Hotels & Resorts, a collection of luxury hotels, have collaborated to bring out a capsule collection called The Escape Artist for the holiday season. It features an array of T shirts, beach towels, bags, clutch purses and umbrellas in graphic black and white. The simplistic and minimalist designs ensure that the clothes and accessories can be paired with anything and worn anywhere.

The products have been designed keeping in mind the needs of a design-minded traveller, who wants to look effortlessly put together. The products are multi-functional and fuss free. For instance, the bags are made of canvas that can be washed and used easily, the beach towels can double as a cover up on a flight, the cotton T shirts are wrinkle free and there are waterproof wet sacks where one can put the swimming costume, after a swim and carry it in a bigger bag along with other things.

Packing for travel can be a test of one’s planning skills, where you want to travel light yet want enough outfits to see you through the vacation. The gender neutral white T-shirts with slogans like “Slow Coach”, “Escape Artist” and “Holiday” can be used as a layering piece beneath jackets or worn as a standalone piece with a range of bottoms to create different things. The multi-purpose totes can serve as a constant ally from airports and beaches to shopping haunts. It’s the versatility that makes the collection appealing.

The collection seamlessly blends the design language of both the brands. While on the outside, every item has a minimal graphic identity (including the airplane logo) that the Postcard Hotels are known for, on the inside there are fun elements that are Nicobar’s signature. Like the tote bags and pouches have playful motifs such as the beach chair or polka dots on the inside and also hidden yet functional pockets. The collection also includes keepsakes like fridge magnets and key chains inspired from Goa, where the Postcard properties are located.

“For this collaborative capsule, we created a range of travel essentials, dipped in our signature monochromatic stripes and polka dotsthat are fun yet super functional. They’re meant to make your holidays easy and enjoyable, but also inject a bit of tropical ease to your surroundings when you use them in everyday life,” said Simran Lal, co-founder, Nicobar, in a press note. The collection will be available in Nicobar stores at Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore and also on the brand’s website and at The Postcard properties.

Kapil Chopra, The Postcard Hotel’s founder and CEO, feels the collaboration is a great way to connect with travelers. “There is a growing awareness among travellers and we want to actively engage the changing aspirations of our guests,” he said in a statement released by the brand.
