A suitcase tells a thousand stories. From chefs and writers to adventurers and more, Traveller’s Trunk is a documentary series that peeks inside the lives and travels of some of India’s most interesting wanderers.

Truly a man of the wilderness, Jaisal Singh has spent the better part of his life roaming the great bush country of Africa and the vast and varied wild lands of Rajasthan, India. Born into a family that favoured his jungle education over regular school time, Singh often times found himself, in his younger years, in the jungles of Ranthambore, tracking tigers and photographing them with his father and uncle. A former polo player (and a good one at that), author, wildlife conservationist, and entrepreneur, Jaisal is part-brainchild and CEO of SUJÁN Luxury—a family owned business that operates three luxury tented camps in Rajasthan and one in Kenya’s Masai Mara along with the running of Rajmahal Palace in Jaipur.

Also vice president of Relais & Châteaux, Singh’s life could see him sipping morning tea in Morocco and enjoying dinner in the bush anywhere in the world. An avid traveller and safari man, here he shares with us a snapshot of his on-the-move life, running a luxury tented camp in the heart of leopard country in Jawai, Rajasthan, and why the way forward points to conscious travel and conservation tourism.
